The Word for the World was born out of Africa 40 years ago. Now, we have grown to work with people and communities around the world, but Bible translation in Africa is still a great need! Without further ado, here are some updates on 2 of our projects in Zambia:

  • The Aushi translation team has completed translating the New Testament from Matthew up to 1 Thessalonians, and are currently working on 2 Thessalonians.

  • The Bwile team has finished translating Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and Romans. At the moment, they are translating 1 and 2 Corinthians and Matthew.

The men and women involved in these projects are giving all of themselves to it. Over 200,000 people are represented by just these two languages! These communities are eagerly awaiting the completion and publication of the New Testament.

God bless the translators, their families, and their communities. Please keep them in your prayers, that they might overcome any challenge thrown at them and that the work of God's Kingdom will be brought to fruition.
