It’s staggering to think over one billion people still lack access to the Scriptures in their own languages. One billion. But, the groundswell of Bible translation shows that God reaches the nations through His people. Nothing will stop Him. He is building His church. What a joy to know that this Christmas more people than ever before will hear about that holy night in words that are clear to them.
Translators and partners are like the two covers of a book and God’s words fill the pages. Thank you. Thanks to dedicated translators and kingdom-minded partners for your courage to share what God has given you this Christmas. When these two ‘book covers’ put their faith into action like this, transformation happens. We are grateful that each one of you have been here at this moment in time.
When Jesus was hungry in the wilderness, the devil tempted him to turn stones into bread. Jesus replied, “…It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4, NIV)
Everyone who is part of heart- language Bible translation takes that food to all who are hungry for Him. In a world that is starving for hope, joy and peace, Scripture strengthens, nourishes and comforts by His Spirit.
It is a privilege to witness the impact of the Body of Christ working in unison as we respond to the Great Commission. Bible translation work is accelerating at an unprecedented rate as an indigenous movement. Together, we witness the profound impact of God's Word resonating across borders, bringing hope and salvation to countless lives.
For the first time in history, the number of languages with Bible translation in progress has exceeded the number of languages without work in progress – thanks to you; glory to God!
Continue to be part of His-story as we glorify God and enjoy Him together.
