The Bible - My Favourite Book
March 12, 2021

A few weeks ago, we asked you how the Bible has changed your life. This is how Hartmut Giese, one of our German supporters, responded:"In my life, the Bible has become indispensable. It is by far my favourite book and has become my daily reading and an instrument to understand God better. The Bible has shown me

  • what is really important for my life,
  • who God is,
  • what he created and his intentions with his creation,
  • that God loves me and died for me on the cross so that I could be saved.

Through the Holy Spirit, the Bible works in me and has convinced me,

  • to come before God every day, to become quiet, to read the Bible and to tune into God,
  • that it is only through Jesus that I can bear fruit for the kingdom of God (John 15:1).
  • that Jesus is the goal of everything (Colossians 1:16).

For me, the Bible is a great gift and truly God's living Word. That is why the impact of the Bible can't really be distinguished from the impact of God Himself. For me, it all started in 1999 when God answered an important prayer in a miraculous way. I had vowed that if he'd answer this prayer I'd join a church together with my wife and learn more about him.God then gave me much more than I had requested. I was very impressed, happy and grateful. When we joined a church, I immediately felt I was in good hands. I started reading the Bible and exchanging ideas with Christians. I finally came to the point of understanding that Jesus wants to go through life with me. I joined him, and now have walked with him for 20 years. I have never regretted this decision. God has changed my thinking, speaking and acting in a good way - and I hope he will continue to do so."[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
