Our Vision 2050: The Word for the World envisions being instrumental in completing first-time translations of the entire Bible in 1,000 languages by 2050.
Bible translation is one of the most significant global movements of our time. Across continents and cultures, Scripture is being translated so that every nation, tribe, and language can encounter God’s Word in the language they understand best. At The Word for the World, we believe transparency strengthens trust, which is why we maintain a clear and accessible Bible Translation Chart that tracks our organization’s translation milestones and forward momentum toward Vision 2050. It reflects the advancement of our mission—offering a snapshot of how God is moving the Great Commission forward through the work entrusted to us. We invite supporters to see tangible evidence of lives being impacted as Scripture becomes accessible in new languages around the world.
From 1980 to today, The Word for the World has steadily expanded the number of Bible translation projects to bring the Word of God to those waiting to hear His love and truth. Today, with eight full Bible translations completed and 441* underway, we are approaching the halfway point of our Vision 2050 goal of bringing Scripture to 1,000 languages.

With you and other supporters sowing into Bible translation, impact accelerates.
Our Bible Translation Chart reflects years of faithful effort to bring Scripture into the heart languages of people groups around the world. Each project represents linguistic research, community engagement, translation, checking, and revision carried out by dedicated translators and ministry partners.
This chart does not attempt to measure the global work of all translation agencies. Instead, it documents the projects entrusted specifically to The Word for the World and the progress being made through our teams and supporters.
Ultimately, our Bible Translation Chart exists to highlight what God is doing through our mission and to invite others into His story. As the Great Commission continues to unfold, visible progress strengthens shared vision and fuels ongoing engagement. We remind supporters that your prayers and generosity contribute to something enduring—Scripture placed into the hands of people who have never before had access in their own language..
The Word for the World remains committed to the Vision 2050 goal of launching translation projects for 1,000 languages in need of Scripture. Each new project and completed translation moves us closer to a world where no language remains without access to Scripture. We invite you to revisit this Bible Translation Chart often as new milestones are reached and the story of God’s Word spreading to new languages continues to unfold.
