The Voice That Calls Us His

In every season of life, we are reminded how quickly things can change. We raise families, carry responsibilities, watch the world shift around us, and endure trials we don’t choose. Through it all, God holds our faith steady. Yet there are still moments when we need Him to reassure our hearts and remind us who we are and Whose we are.
This is one of the gifts of Scripture. God reminds us that He formed us with care and calls us His own people. In Christ, we are made new. When we return to the Bible, we hear those truths again and remember we belong to Him.
Scripture Gives Language to Identity
When someone encounters Scripture in a language they understand deeply, they learn about God and hear the Father speak. The Holy Spirit reveals we are part of His family through illuminated Scripture. These truths settle in the heart, especially when they are heard in the language in which a person first understood the words, “I love you.”
Yet for millions of people around the world, hearing God speak this way is not yet possible.
Today, nearly 3,000 language communities are still waiting for Scripture in the language they understand best. Many believers love the Lord but must rely on a national language learned later in life to access God’s Word. They hear the Bible in words that never quite reach the heart. Without God’s Word in their language, the assurance many Christians cherish remains difficult to grasp.
For John, a laborer in his community, reading Scripture in his heart language changed how he related to God and saw himself.
He described the transformation this way:
“Before I read the Bible in my language, I saw myself as weak and worthless. But when I began reading God’s Word, I discovered something new. Scripture showed me that I am a precious child of God.”
For many years, John had only feared God. But through Scripture, he began to know God as a loving Father who cares for His children.
John is not alone.
As Scripture becomes available in new languages, the Good News reaches hearts in a new way. Through Bible translation, communities that once struggled to grasp God’s Word are hearing His voice with clarity. Men and women read God’s Word and understand that they belong to God’s family.
Each new translation means another community can hear the voice of God calling them His own.
Across the world today, indigenous Bible translation moves forward with increasing momentum. Translation teams are faithfully bringing Scripture into heart languages, while local church communities unite by praying, supporting, and walking alongside the translators.
So That Every People May Hear
For many of us, the Bible is close at hand. We can open its pages at any moment and hear again the promises that remind us who we are and Whose we are. Yet millions still wait for the same gift in the language they understand best.
That is why the work of Bible translation continues. The Word for the World will not stop until every language has God’s Word and lives are transformed for His glory.
Each new translation means another community can hear Scripture in the language they speak every day. And when Truth speaks in the language of the heart, people discover what John did: they are known, loved, and called.
Please continue to pray for God’s Word to reach every nation, tribe, and tongue.
